Veni, vidi, vici – I am a Scuba Diver now

VENE, VIDI, VICI

I came, I saw, I conquered – and now I am a DIVER

Arrived for a holiday on Kamala Beach about 10 minutes away from the busy Patong Beach on Phuket Island in Thailand. First thing on my mind on my first stroll though the main tourist street in Kamala was finding a dive shop to upgrade the PADI Scuba Diver certificate to the PADI Open Water certificate.

Merlin Divers Phuket

That’s when Merlin Divers, Kamala Diving Center, Phuket entered the picture.. Very nice dive shop and very professional looking facility. Equally professional was the staff. After a brief chat with the staff of the office everything was arranged only needed to let them know when to start the dive course.

The academic lesson and pool training was done on one day – easy but have to say good was the chance to get a review of what was learned about 5 years ago in Egypt. So many little things were forgotten – especially how to breath while being under water. ‘

Phuket Diving

Second day of the dive course was out on the boat to get 2 dives done for my PADI Open Water Diver certification. Everything was smoothly arranged from pick up in the morning, transfer to the pier and welcome on board of the dive vessel to breakfast and lunch and of course the scuba diving.

The dive sites were 2 different reefs, bays out on Racha Yai island. The visibility was surprisingly good for having had some rainy days before the dive trip.

All in all – an excellent experience scuba diving with Merlin Divers scuba diving school on Kamala Beach – on the west coast of Phuket between the beaches of Patong and Surin.
