Racha Noi which means in Thai language “small King” is the smaller island of two island about a 120 minute due south of Phuket. There are many dives sites from the island if you use as a starting point any of the many bays around he island.

Really the interesting dive sites are a little distance of the island – to be exact – there is a north pinnacle and a south pinnacle. and because these dive site are in the open seas the marine life is much more denser and richer than the bays.  Also the change to see some pelagic is much higher because of the depth surrounding the pinnacles.

A conmen encounter for divers on these pinnacles: Manta rays. Unfortunately not on a daily basis – but the change to see a Manta ray around Racha Noi is higher than on any other dive site close by Phuket.

There are two dive sites in Thailand where sightings of Manta rays are higher in and that is Koh Bon in the Similan island national park and Hin Daeng – Hin Muang completely in the south.
