One of the most beautiful dive spots on Phuket is the Anemone Reef. Maybe it is less well know than Shark Point Phuket and the King Cruiser wreck because those two dive sites are very close to it.
Diving Phuket Anemone Reef in Thailand
The Anemone Reef as a dive site is truly spectacular. The dive site is relatively small – about 30 meters long and only about 6-7 meters wide. The bottom is at around 18 – 20 meters. Basically it looks like a very big loaf of bread. Highest point is less than 2 meters under the surface and you can still see the scare the King Cruiser left on the reef when it collided with the reef.
What makes this little but very beautiful dive sites special is the variety of marine live on it. A diver with a good eye can spot lots of interesting little sea creatures. There are always lots of white eyed moray eels to find as well.
And best of all if there is a bit of current it is always worth to swim a couple of meters into the current and surely you will find lots of schools of fishes. Big trevallies are often seen and the dogtooth tuna fish too. Once in a while you might see cobias or reef sharks cruising back and forth too.
